Together with Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions, The Bates Partnership delighted to support the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in the selection of a contractor to complete the €30 million deep-water quay development in Ros an Mhíl Fishery Harbour Centre.
The project will provide an additional 200 metres of quayside to accommodate larger vessels such as large fishing vessels, Irish Navy vessels, Marine Institute research vessels, survey vessels and leisure craft.
Our work on this project began over four years ago and we have been involved in many aspects including concept development of the infrastructure, analysis of the wave climate and loading conditions and associated ship navigation simulations, optimisation of dredge volumes, and general development of an efficient conceptual design for the deep water infrastructure.
It is expected that these facilities will stimulate economic activity for the surrounding rural coastal communities with the potential for downstream development and jobs.
